"Düsseldorf Declaration" on an opportunity-oriented transformation of North Rhine-Westphalia's industry

A broad alliance of business associations, chambers, trade unions and industry initiatives signed the "Düsseldorf Declaration" together with Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart on December 01, 2021. 
This agreement is connected with an impulse for the necessary transformation process of the North Rhine-Westphalian industry. It is a commitment to North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location and at the same time a mandate to involve everyone in the transformation process. According to Andreas Pinkwart, the necessary transformation is particularly about the important issues of climate and digitization, which require innovation and investment. Industry should become more visible as a driver of innovation and get people excited about NRW as a business location. 

Rolf A. Königs, CEO and Chairman of the AUNDE Group and also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zukunft durch Industrie, emphasizes: "As a society-wide initiative, we have been promoting open dialog about industry and its sustainability for more than ten years. The declaration reinforces this commitment, as social dialogue and active communication in particular have an important role to play in the transformation of industry. It reinforces the dialog that already takes place intensively between all stakeholders, especially with citizens and young people, in order to develop the industrial site of tomorrow."
